- Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey insists he’s dedicated to theater job -- Kevin Spacey has hit out at claims he is trying to balance a Hollywood career with running a London theatre. Critics lambasted the actor for abandoning his role as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre for six weeks so he could shoot SUPERMAN RETURNS in Australia. But Spacey is outraged at the suggestion he isn't dedicated to his job. He says, Six weeks doing SUPERMAN last year (05). Forty-one weeks performing in three different plays on the Old Vic stage - that's a pretty good balance. No matter where I am, I am always running the Old Vic theatre. Thanks God for Blackberrys and email. I was up this morning at six o'clock doing work on behalf of the Old Vic and I continue to do that no matter where I am in the world.
