  • Left Los Angeles for the U.K. right in the middle of filming his hit Fox series House M.D. - to attend to a family obligation. (October 26, 2007)
  • Laurie's Band from TV, featuring the House star on piano, 'Desperate Housewives' star James Denton and 'Heroes' actor Greg Grunberg, has scored a big hit as a download on iTunes - with Cab Calloway classic Minnie The Moocher. (September 24, 2007)
  • Denied reports his 18-year marriage to Jo Green is in trouble - although he admits it is hard spending so much time away from his family. (March 21, 2007)
  • Was first cast in the role of Perry White in SUPERMAN RETURNS (2006). However, the popularity of his TV show House, M.D. (2004) caused schedule conflicts. Frank Langella was then cast.
  • Australian magazine Who included Hugh Laurie in its Sexiest People 2006 issue.

  • Won the 1977 National Junior Championship for rowing (coxed pair). In the same year, he and his rowing partner represented England in the World Junior Championship for rowing where they finished fourth place.
