  • Her film career began in the classic films, such as THE CHILDREN'S HOUR, with Audrey Hepburn and Shirley McLaine and directed by William Wyler, Alfred Hitchcock's THE BIRDS, starring Tippi Hedren, Jessica Tandy and Rod Taylor, and SPENCER'S MOUNTAIN, with Henry Fonda and Maureen O'Hara.
  • Was originally to play Ripley in ALIEN (1979), but producers opted for Sigourney Weaver.
  • The rumor that the cast, except for John Hurt, did not know what would happen during the chestburster scene in ALIEN (1979) is partly true. The scene had been explained for them, but they did not know specifics. For example, Veronica Cartwright did not expect to be sprayed with blood.
