- In August 2005, Castillo co-hosted the Miss Teen USA 2005 pageant alongside Passions actor Galen Gering.
- Was Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 1998 and won the Clairol Herbal Essence Style Award at the Miss Teen USA 1998 Pageant.
- Is the second representative from the state of Massachusetts to win the Miss USA title, the first being Shawnae Jebbia in 1998, the same year Susie was the Miss Teen representative. They both had the same final question which won them the title of Miss USA.
