- Sometimes credited as: Isaiah Washington IV
- Nickname: Mickey or Ike
- Was involved in a heated argument with Grey's Anatomy co-stars Patrick Dempsey on the set of their hit show which nearly ended in a fist-fight. It seems that Washington was prepared to shoot a particular scene and was peeved that his fellow cast mates weren't ready to go. He ended up making a nasty remark to T.R. Knight and Dempsey stepped in on Knight's behalf. (October 8, 2006)
- Joined forces with the Narcolepsy Network in its first nation-wide campaign to raise awareness for narcolepsy. While Washington does not suffer from the sleep disorder, he has said that a close friend of his does. (April 2006)
- When Washington went to audition for Grey's Anatomy, it was originally for the role of Derek Shepard, which ultimately went to Patrick Dempsey; Burke had originally been described as a nebbish, stout fortysomething man.
